Google Analytics iPhone app – Analytics Pro vs Quicklytics

Google Analytics iPhone app – Analytics Pro vs Quicklytics

Google Analytics is extremely comprehensive and full of detailed information about who and what might be visiting your website. However it is not very end user friendly and it is easy to get lost in the web based user interface. Accessing your stats on the go is a quicker and more convenient way of viewing these stats and while no replacement for the web based interface it comes pretty darn close with apps such as Analytics Pro that also supports exporting and printing. Maybe it is a bit misleading having the VS in the title since I actually use both of these apps equally, a little bit depending on how much time I have on my hands and how much info I want to access. Read on for a comparison of these two apps for the iPhone.

myPhoneDesktop update v1.8.1 supports Motion-X GPS Drive and Mercury Browser

Noticed that myPhoneDesktop had an update waiting for me in the app store, seems that it now has enhanced support for the Motion-X GPS Drive and Mercury Browser. I use this app quite often, it is nice not having to enter for example phone numbers that are displayed on your screen manually on your phone, just highlight it and click ctrl+c+c and it will basically dial it for you. You can read my full review of myPhone Desktop here and below is the message I got from its author Alexander Krivov:

List of iPhone voice commands, iOS4

iPhone Voice Control

A list of voice commands for the iPhone and iOS4.

The other night it struck me that a voice command for telling me what time it is would be really neat for the iPhone. Since I use a headset most of the day and sometimes it is a hassle picking up the phone to check the time (when driving etc) and a command like this would make my life much easier.

I started my search in Cydia for a solution. The reason I started in this end and not in the App Store is the fact that I have recently added really cool apps that according to me should come standard with the phone, but they aren’t available through the App Store. I got an app that actually tells you who is calling and who is mailing you, for example now it says “Call from Erik Rudling before the ring signal. Extremely convenient when headset bound, now I know not to answer with my company and full name when friends or family calls, it always sounded a bit odd.

Viber vs Skype on the iPhone

Viber vs Skype - My comparison of the two iPhone apps

I recently posted an answer to a question on Quora where I shared my opinions on the differences between Skype and Viber. The Question was as straight forward as can be “How does Viber compare to Skype?”. My comparison between these two will be touching on the voice and address book usage, not on video and text features (currently not available in Viber). I will mostly talk about Viber since the features I like in that app are related to the ones I don’t like that much in Skype. Read on for more details, screenshots and the exciting conclusion…

Speck iPhone cases – their support rocks!

Speck iPhone cases – their support rocks!

As soon as I bought the iPhone 4 I also got the Speck – Darkest Tartan Case for it and was amazed by its sturdiness and fit. I also really liked the textured back side of the case aswell as the rounded corners, it made the iPhone much more comfortable to hold and also easier to grip when picking it up.

myPhoneDesktop Review – Call contacts on your iPhone from your desktop

I call plenty of people during a day and many of the times I am seated in front of my computer and  a CRM-system like Insightly for example. I always felt a bit frustrated having the customer details displayed on screen but then I also needed to type that phone number in manually on my iPhone, it seemed like alot (ok ok, alot is perhaps the wrong word) of extra work.
